About this event

This solo exhibition spotlights the work of Jamie Gentry, a Kwakwaka’wakw artist based on Vancouver Island. On view is a striking series of moccasins, each entirely handmade and adorned with intricate floral beadwork that reflects technical mastery and reverence for the natural world. These works mark a shift in her practice from commission-based work to a personal journey of self-discovery and art as a gift of joy. Photographs in the exhibit also capture her land-based practice and community connections. It is a poetic dialogue between object and environment located in central Vancouver.
